Right out of the Box

The word bookwife is not in the OED. I checked. I have been using it in several contexts for a while and have come to be fond of it. It's sort of the antithesis of a fishwife, usually defined as a loud and coarse woman, or a woman who sells fish. Bookwives are moderate of speech and somewhat refined-- and of course, we love books.

Books come in all formats, shapes and sizes, including electronic ones, of course, but this blog is devoted to paper based ones --old and new. I hope you enjoy journeying with me through the world of books.
